Name: The Original POSH Graffiti 10cm Jazz Glass Mosaic Letter E.
Albizia wood, or Peacocks Plume, is a sustainable light weight wood making it ideal for our wooden letters. The carvers use this wood rather than MDF which produces dangerous carcinogenic dust when cut. The consequence is that quality not quantity is the emphasis.
Made by woodcarvers from the same village rice farming community in Bali for over 20 years. The farmers use this important secondary business to sustain their agriculture and cultivate fast growing albizia trees around their rice fields to provide the wood.
To begin the creation of the 10cm Jazz Glass Mosaic Letter E, woodcarvers firstly hand cut the shape of the letter from flat albizia wood with a jigsaw. They then stick small pieces of recycled mirror and coloured glass onto the letter E shape, before using a grout made from tapioca flour to fill the spaces. Finally the wooden back is painted black to finish the process.
